Posterior Vitreous Detachment
Differential diagnosis
- Retinal tear
- Retinal detachment
- Intermediate uveitis
- Vitreous haemorrhage
Possible management by Optometrist
Treatment
- None
Advice
- Reassure the patient, explain possible risk of future retinal detachment
- Give the patient retinal detachment warning leaflet
- Review patient in 6 weeks time. If no changes at 6 week review - discharge the patient with retinal detachment warning advice
