Differential diagnosis

• Retinal tear
• Retinal detachment
• Intermediate uveitis
• Vitreous haemorrhage

Treatment

• None

Advice

• Reassure the patient, explain possible risk of future retinal detachment
  • Give the patient retinal detachment warning leaflet
• Review patient in 6 weeks time. If no changes at 6 week review - discharge the patient with retinal detachment warning advice
